Streamflow Monitoring:
- Stage/discharge monitoring of stream flows was done by the U.S. Geological Survey between 1951 and 1957 at a site just downstream of the confluence of the South Fork Kings River and Grizzly Creek.
- Peak flow monitoring was done by the USGS in the 1970's at the same site where the stream flow was monitored in the 1950's and also at the culvert upstream where Grizzly Creek flows under Highway 180 and joins the South Fork Kings River.
- Stream flows were measured periodically in tributaries to the S.F. Kings River in the vicinity of Cedar Grove for a period in the mid 1970's to provide information to the National Park Service for locating reliable drinking water intake site to supply water for Cedar Grove facilities.
- Stream flows in the South Fork Kings have been measured occasionally during the past 3 years as part of the reconnaissance efforts to learn more about the river by the Friends of the South Fork Kings.
